G-007, arriving soon!

Gloss black Lamborghini Revuelto G-007 on the factory floor at Sant'Agata Bolognese

Some cars you order. Some cars you wait for. This one I'm watching come together, piece by piece. That's my Lamborghini Revuelto, gloss black on bronze wheels, in the final stages at Sant'Agata Bolognese, and I'm calling her G-007. She's arriving soon.

Lamborghini has built its name on the V12 since the 1960s. Ferruccio Lamborghini founded the company in 1963, and the V12 line runs from the Miura and Countach through the Diablo, Murciélago and Aventador. The Revuelto, unveiled on March 29, 2023, is the Aventador's successor and the first Lamborghini plug-in hybrid. The name comes from a Spanish fighting bull that fought in Barcelona in the 1880s, keeping to Lamborghini's tradition of naming cars after bulls.

What makes it a milestone is the engine. Lamborghini kept a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 and added three electric motors, two on the front axle and one tied to a new eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox, for a combined 1,015 PS (1,001 hp). It reaches 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.5 seconds and tops 350 km/h (217 mph). The electric motors do more than add power: they give true torque vectoring and let the car run all-wheel drive, even in electric mode. It was designed by Mitja Borkert, and the V12 sits proudly on display behind the cabin.

I've admired the V12 Lamborghinis for years, and what I love about this one is that it doesn't give up the sound and the drama to move forward. It keeps the soul of the old cars and adds the technology of the next generation. G-007 is almost here. I'll keep posting the build and the story right here on paulgravette.com, and the moment she arrives you'll see her first on X at @Paul_Gravette.
