Most good ideas don't die from a lack of money. They die on a weeknight after work, when you realize you'd need a developer, a designer and a marketer just to get started, and you don't have any of them. That gap has closed. As I wrote earlier this year, we are living in the golden age of entrepreneurship. Most people haven't noticed yet. This series is about noticing it and putting it to work.

The fix is simpler than it sounds. An AI assistant, meaning a chat tool you talk to in plain English, can now draft the code for a simple website, rough out a logo, write the first version of a sales email or walk you through a budget line by line. You don't need to become an expert first. You describe the job, check the answer and ask again. The learning curve is measured in hours, not years. I'm not a software engineer, and earlier this year I built a working investment research system on my own machine with an AI coding tool for about $4 a month in costs.1 The tool wasn't the point. The point was how quickly curious turned into capable.

I look at this the way I look at any investment. The question isn't whether the tools are perfect. They aren't, and they can be confidently wrong, so check anything that touches money, health or law before you act on it. The real question is where the advantage sits. It no longer sits with whoever can afford the biggest team. Knowledge that used to live inside expensive programs and well-connected networks is open to anyone willing to look for it.1 The advantage now sits with the person who starts, learns by building and keeps going. That experience compounds, and you can't buy it later.

That's what this site is for: using AI tools to fix the real problems in your week, so you feel like you're winning one small result at a time. Each week in this series I'll take one everyday problem, the kind that eats your evenings, and show a plain way to handle it with tools most people already have. No hype and no promises about money. Simply the next useful step, taken calmly.

Try this

Pick one task you've been putting off because you "don't know how": a one-page website, a flyer, a simple budget or a plan for a side project. Open any AI assistant, describe the result you want in three or four sentences, and ask it to walk you through the first step only. Give it 30 minutes, then write down what you got done.

Ask Paul: What would you build if you knew how? Tell me at Ask Paul. I may take it up in a future part of the series.
