Tesla Roadster reveal

Tesla moved its Roadster event to Thursday, Oct 15, 2026. It is an outdoor event, so weather can matter. As of Oct 4, Tesla has not announced a start time, a stream or a venue. Media reports point to SpaceX’s McGregor test site near Waco, Texas, but Tesla has not confirmed that. No price or specs are official yet. The 2017 numbers were claims, not 2026 specs.

Cybercab production ramp

Tesla said on its Q1 2026 call that Cybercab production had started at Giga Texas. Musk said early output would be very slow and then ramp toward the end of the year. Tesla’s Cybercab rollout in Austin launched Sept 3, and Texas records showed 169 Cybercabs authorized for commercial use as of Oct 2, per CNBC. Tesla has not published an output rate, and federal regulators have an open safety query. The end-of-year ramp is a target, not a promise.

NASA target

Artemis III: a test in Earth orbit

NASA says Artemis III is a crewed test in low Earth orbit in 2027, rehearsing rendezvous and docking with the commercial lunar landers from SpaceX and Blue Origin. It is not a Moon landing. NASA’s official line is 2027, but the lander companies told NASA in April they could be ready by late 2027, and in September NASA’s administrator told staff the mission was about 90 days behind, with summer 2027 only the best case. Treat the date as a target that is slipping.

NASA target

First planned crewed Moon landing

NASA is targeting 2028 for Artemis IV, the first planned crewed landing near the lunar South Pole. NASA has kept that target since mid-2025, but it depends on the 2027 test going well and on a commercial lander being ready, so it can move.

Apophis passes close, and safe

The asteroid Apophis will pass about 20,000 miles (32,000 km) above Earth’s surface on April 13, 2029. NASA says there is no danger to Earth or to satellites, and no impact risk for at least 100 years. It is a rare chance to study an asteroid up close.

2030My forecast
Paul’s forecast

SI is a normal tool. Judgment is the edge.

This one is my opinion, not a fact, and it has no promised date. My bet is that by 2030 SI tools are routine at work. I think the people who stand out are the ones who judge well and can sell. It matches what I keep posting: SI removes the busywork in front of judgment, and it does not replace it.

2035EU car rule
Proposed, not law

Europe’s 2035 new-car emissions target

In December 2025 the European Commission proposed changing the 2035 target for new cars from a 100% cut in CO2 to a 90% cut, with the rest offset by things like EU-made low-carbon steel and renewable fuels. Until Parliament and the member states both approve a change, the 100% rule stays the law. A Parliament committee vote planned for Oct 5 has been pushed back about two weeks, and a plenary vote is expected in November 2026. The final text could still change.
